Ministry Update - May 26
greetings jubilee family
It has been 10 weeks since we last gathered in person and we have missed you all so much! As you know, last Friday, the State released the “Reopen Alaska Responsibly, Phases Three & Four”. Due to this, we are excited to announce that we will be gathering again in person!
We want you to know that your health and safety are of utmost importance to us! We have been wholeheartedly seeking the Lord and asking for His help to navigate this season ahead. We are very eager to regather, yet we desire to do so in a wise and graceful manner.
In cooperation with the pastoral staff and deacon board, we feel it is best for the church family to return to our worship experiences and ministry opportunities in a phased approach. Please view the information below for our current plan. We will monitor this timeline closely and will reevaluate this approach with our leadership team to make any necessary adjustments.
Sunday, May 31, 10:00am: Outdoor / Drive-In Service in Large Parking Lot
Family Service, approximately 45 minutes in length
Worship and Communion Emphasis (elements provided)
Families may stay in their vehicles or bring lawn chairs to sit outside
Ushers will direct families to sitting area or to parking area upon arrival
Family members are encouraged to sit/remain together
Social distancing is encouraged
Face Masks are welcomed but not required
Limited access to church building (Restroom in Foyer available)
In case of rain, families will remain in their vehicles
Sundays in June, 10:00am: Worship Services
Family Services, approximately 60-75 minutes in length
Social distancing is encouraged
Face Masks are welcomed but not required
Rows widened in the sanctuary (overflow seating area unavailable)
Hand Sanitation Stations available
No Nursery Ministry (Nursery will be unavailable for any usage)
No Preschool or Elementary Children’s Ministries
Restrooms on Lower Level and in Foyer available
Modified Greeting Time, Offering and Communion opportunities
No additional in-person church activities offered during June
Please remember that all mid-week ministries have recessed for the summer months, so the current focus is on Sunday morning ministry. Beyond Sunday mornings, there are weekly online connections for children and youth that will continue through June. Every Friday at 2:00pm, Pastor Mari hosts a Zoom call for children and every Sunday at 6:00pm, Pastor Kayla hosts a Zoom call for teenagers.
We pray that you have enjoyed the recent online worship services; however, we are unable to provide that same worship experience in this next season. Our plan is to offer the weekly sermon on Jubilee’s YouTube channel by the following Tuesday each week [Sunday Morning Services can be found on YouTube] and CD’s of the sermon can always be requested for mailing or pick-up at the church. The church office will reopen to the public beginning Tuesday, June 2 at 9:00am.
As we prepare to regather, we encourage you to make the best decisions for you and your family. If you are considered high risk, have any symptoms of COVID19, or are uncomfortable with rejoining at this time, know that we understand and look forward to your return!
Part of reopening is also reestablishing ministries and rebuilding ministry teams. If you were previously involved in a specific area of ministry and would like to renew your commitment to serve or if you would like to express your desire to be involved, please contact the pastoral staff. Each of us has an important part to play in the body of Christ that contributes to the overall work that God wants us to accomplish together!
Thank you for your great love and support during this season! We are happy to serve you in anyway and we are excited to see you all soon! God Bless You!
Pastors Jeremy & Charee’ and the Jubilee Leadership Team
